Simon has covered the men’s and women’s tennis tours for the best part of 15 years. He started his career in sports journalism at Bloomberg News, covering everything from the World Cup and Wimbledon to the Open Championship and international cricket tours. In addition to his writing duties, he worked for Bloomberg Television as a sports presenter and interviewer.
After four years at Bloomberg, Simon moved to Sports.com, Europe’s leading sports website, before taking the plunge in 2002 to become a freelance. Since then, he has been a regular contributor on tennis to a number of British newspapers, including The Guardian, The Times and The Glasgow Herald, and has written about various sports for numerous publications around the world, including Reuters, DPA and a growing number of magazines.

Away from work, he continues to fight the advancement of age by playing competitively for his tennis club in the Middlesex Leagues, still believing, despite evidence to the contrary, that the best may be yet to come.
While continually trying to turn her backhand from a wet mop into a Henin-esque stroke, Alex’s life as a tennis journalist and editor began at ACE Tennis Magazine, which at the time lived just down the road from the All England Club. Graduating from product reviews and tour reports to become the Editor of British Tennis Magazine and the Deputy Editor of ACE, while discovering Facebook, Twitter and YouTube at the same time, three years at ACE came to an end and she plunged racket-first into the freelance world.
Writing for, among others, the Daily Express, BBC Sport, the Associated Press, the Independent, Sporting Intelligence, the International Tennis Federation, the Sport Collective, and editing the summer event tennis programmes, she took up contracts at The Daily Telegraph and at the All England Club, before taking charge of all Wimbledon’s editorial content in 2012, while continuing to freelance in the intervening seconds. She has also contributed as a guest pundit for a number of broadcasters including CNN World Sport, Channel 5 News, Sports Tonight Live, Radio Wimbledon, Radio Roland Garros and Radio Dublin.
