Carlisle Bay, Antigua

Set on a breathtaking beach with a backdrop of lush rainforest covered hills, Carlisle Bay in Antigua is the perfect location for a Caribbean tennis holiday.  The resort boasts nine tennis courts – eight cushioned hard courts and one artificial grass court; four are flood-lit for evening play. The Antiguan weather is superb with the temperature typically between the mid 70s and high 80s with cooling breezes all year round. Guests can freely access the tennis courts throughout the day and are able to book private tuition or group clinics with Carlisle Bay’s resident pro.

In November 2012, ex-No.1 British tennis player and popular sports correspondent,  Jeremy Bates, returns to Carlisle Bay, Antigua for a third year running, to host a Professional Tennis Week.  Guests partake in small group morning clinics taken by Jeremy, where they work on improving and perfecting their technique, skills and match play. With years of experience coaching top flight players, including most recently Britain’s Ladies No.2 Anna Keothavong, Jeremy is the ideal mentor to help tennis enthusiasts get the most from a sporting holiday.

The weeks are perfect for those with a passion for tennis. For solo travellers, no single supplement is charged on Garden or Ocean Suites and for guests in search of a social getaway there is plenty of opportunity to meet and mingle with other players at the Sunday night welcome drinks reception.

Carlisle Bay offers unrivalled levels of stylish, luxurious accommodation. All of the generously proportioned suites have king size beds and private balconies or terraces that lead straight to the beach. The suites include thoughtful extras, such as, complimentary Wi-Fi, a DVD/CD player and espresso machine.
