Hlavackova and Hradecka do our Olympic quiz

The Czech pair Andrea Hlavackova and Lucie Hradecka, who will compete in the women’s doubles gold medal match, do our Olympic quiz:

Apart from tennis, the event I hope to watch during The Games:
Andrea: Two days ago I watched the canoe slalom and a Czech guy won silver, so that was pretty awesome. But before I came to the Olympics I wanted to see the swimming.
Lucie: For me, I would like to see the artistic gymnastics.

The Olympian I would most like to meet during The Games:
Andrea: Usain Bolt.
Lucie: Same for me!
Andrea: I met Kobe Bryant and LeBron James already.

What the Olympics means to me:
Andrea: It means we have a huge chance to get a medal for our country and it is only once in four years. So there’s quite a bit of pressure when you think of it like that! But on the other hand it is a great opportunity to meet other athletes, which is a lot of fun.
Lucie: It is an amazing feeling to be here, and the chance that I could win a medal for the Czech Republic.

If I wasn’t a tennis player, I would like to have competed in this Olympic sport:
Andrea: Athletics.
Lucie: Gymnastics.

But definitely not this one:
Andrea: Boxing.
Lucie: Weightlifting.

My Olympic hero from past Games:
Andrea: Michael Phelps.
Lucie: Same for me.

The question that tennis players are most likely to be asked by other athletes:
Andrea: When exactly do we play? They think that we have a start time of, say, 9.35am and we go out to play! And I’m like, ‘we play tomorrow’! (laughing)
Lucie: Yes, they always like to know what the schedule will be, and we say it won’t come out until very late the night before.
