Steffi Graf interview: Graf has said that she and her husband, Andre Agassi, sit in front of their television set in Las Vegas amazed at the level of the men’s game: “Gosh, talk about three champions. Novak Djokovic, Rafael Nadal and Roger Federer are all such incredible fighters, such fierce competitors.” Graf, who was speaking at a Longines event at Roland Garros, said that Sunday’s title-match, between Nadal and Djokovic, was “a dream final”.
Graf on Djokovic, Nadal and Federer: “Gosh, talk about three champions. What they have achieved, and the level they play at, Andre and I sit in front of the TV and we’re just amazed at the tennis they’re playing, and how they have raised each other to their limits. All three of them are incredible fighters, such fierce competitors. What an amazing era that they are all playing at the same time. Each one of them, if they had been playing at a different time on their own, would completely rule.
Graf on Sunday’s final in Paris: “It’s a dream final with Djokovic against Nadal. Nadal has been playing some incredible tennis, but Djokovic has had some incredible matches, such as the one against Tsonga when he saved four match points. I would give Nadal the slight edge. But I also believe that Djokovic could win all four grand slams this year, that’s possible. He has shown in the last few years that he’s comfortable on every surface, though this one, clay, might be the hardest one. He managed to come through the Tsonga match, and then he was playing at the top level again in his semi-final with Federer. The final against Nadal is going to be a big test for him, but I believe he can do it. He’s such a complete player. He has no weaknesses.”
