When players walk out on to the Centre Court grass for this summer’s Olympic tennis event at Wimbledon, their entrances could be set to music.
The organisers of the London Games have told The Tennis Space that they are considering plans to send the Olympians out to play with a burst of pop music, though no decision has been made: “Our plans for sport presentation at the tennis are still being fine-tuned, so at present we can’t confirm whether players will walk out to music during the Olympic tennis competition.”
If they do go ahead with the plans, and there is a different song choice for each competitor, which tracks should be selected for which players? Perhaps Roger Federer, for example, should walk out to Right Said Fred’s ‘I’m Too Sexy’. Please send your suggestions to simon@thetennisspace.com
