Readers of The Tennis Space have the opportunity to vote on who they believe to be the greatest male tennis player of all time.
In the third of the ‘quarter-finals’, Bjorn Borg plays Rod Laver (but don’t vote for Borg just because he puts his name to the glow-in-the-dark underwear modelled in the photo above). Roger Federer beat John McEnroe with 90 per cent of the vote in their match, so goes through to play Rafael Nadal in the semi-finals.
We have selected eight greats to play in the quarter-finals of Who is The Greatest? In alphabetical order, they are: Agassi, Borg, Djokovic, Federer, Laver, McEnroe, Nadal, Sampras. We have randomly drawn the quarter-finals as follows:
Rafael Nadal v Pete Sampras – Nadal went through into the next round, with 56 per cent of the vote.
John McEnroe v Roger Federer Federer went through into the next round, with 90 per cent of the vote.
Bjorn Borg v Rod Laver Borg and Laver’s ‘match’ will run until 1pm (London time) on Friday.
Andre Agassi v Novak Djokovic
Readers can vote in the poll on the right-hand side of this page and all other pages on The Tennis Space. The player with the greater percentage of votes will go through to the next round, to the semi-finals.
